The customer approached us with a request for software customization services for the Revit application. Revit is a highly popular software tool used by architects, engineers, and construction professionals to create precise parametric 3D models. Our objective was to develop a service that streamlines the workflow for architects by automating the process of populating rooms with diverse items. This automation would take into account the specific room characteristics, user preferences (e.g., gender-specific restrooms, comfort level), and compliance with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) regulations. By implementing this service, we aimed to enhance efficiency and accuracy in architectural design, providing architects with a valuable tool to optimize their work and effectively meet the needs of their clients.
As part of our software customization services, we undertook the server development aspect of the project primarily using .NET technologies.
One particular focus of our efforts has been the implementation of the functionality aimed at empowering architects and designers to create ergonomic restroom designs. By incorporating all the necessary plumbing fixtures while adhering to rigorous standards set forth by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), we revolutionized the design process. Our clients can now seamlessly generate restroom layouts that are both aesthetically pleasing and inclusive, ensuring accessibility for individuals with disabilities.
Currently, we are preparing to extend the same level of functionality and compliance to other key areas of interior design. In the coming months, we will be working diligently to integrate our expertise into bedrooms, dining rooms, and kitchens. By maintaining a steadfast commitment to ADA standards, we aim to provide architects and designers with the tools they need to create universally accessible and well-designed spaces throughout various residential and commercial settings.
We thoroughly understood the complex logic of the project, and by taking into account the customer’s requirements, developed a user-friendly functionality for the ergonomic design of restroom spaces. Furthermore, we ensured that the developed functionality fully complies with the ADA standards, making it a crucial aspect of the success of this project.
At this time, the project is in the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) stage. We are actively working on enhancing the restroom and improving the user interface and user experience of the plugin. Our focus includes addressing various scenarios such as accommodating various room shapes. Furthermore, we have plans to extend the functionality to encompass the design of other types of rooms.
We are thrilled to announce that real customers are already utilizing the product. Their valuable feedback allows us to promptly make improvements and refinements to enhance the overall product experience.
